REGISTER FOR IRS NATIONWIDE TAX FORUMS:

Attend the upcoming IRS Nationwide Tax Forums and have access to the latest insights and expertise straight from the IRS. Each of the five tax forums is a three-day event with more than 40 seminars and workshops on a wide variety of federal and state tax issues presented by experts from the IRS and partner organizations from the tax community. Attendees may earn up to 18 continuing education credits. In addition to continuing professional education, attendees get access to the popular Case Resolution Program as well as dozens of exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall. Attendees can also participate in focus groups and network with colleagues. The IRS Nationwide Tax Forums are back in-person and will take place in the following five cities:

New Orleans - July 11-13

Atlanta - July 25-27

Washington, D.C. area - Aug. 8-10

San Diego - Aug. 22-24

Orlando - Aug. 29-31

Additionally, the Case Resolution Room returns with the in-person forums. You can once again bring your toughest unresolved IRS case (one case per tax business) to the Case Resolution Program. IRS representatives with specialized expertise will be available by appointment only to meet one-on-one with tax professionals. If we can't resolve the case onsite or it needs more research, we'll assign it to the appropriate IRS unit for follow-up. A signed original or copy of your Power of Attorney (Form 2848), authorizing disclosure of confidential tax information, is required and must be presented when scheduling an appointment (Editor’s Note: even if the POA is on file with the CAF unit – bring that Form 2848 with you!). Only the practitioner(s) listed on the POA will be allowed in the Case Resolution Room. For an appointment, visit the Case Resolution table on Monday before the Forum begins, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or go directly to the Case Resolution Room during the three-day event. To expedite scheduling, bring your Form 2848 and a completed Nationwide Tax Forum Case Data Sheet (Editor’s Note: this is the first time the form is available prior to the forums – be sure to print, complete and bring with you!) with you. The Case Resolution Program can help you resolve one client's toughest tax case. The program is for client cases only. We cannot assist you with any personal tax case or any case in which you have a vested interest. If you have an issue with a case of this nature, please contact the IRS or the Taxpayer Advocate Service directly.
