IRS NATIONAL TAX FORUMS TO RESUME NEXT WEEK IN NEW ORLEANS:

The 2023 tax forums offer more than 40 seminars for which tax pros can earn up to 18 continuing education (CE) credits. The wide-ranging agenda includes a special focus on the Inflation Reduction Act's changes at the IRS. A special plenary session will explore changes outlined in the Strategic Operating Plan. Other sessions will focus on changes to retirement plan distributions under the Secure Act and how to handle virtual currency and digital assets.

Four special events have been added to the program where tax pros who are registered for this summer's IRS Nationwide Tax Forums will be able to participate in sessions focused on practice management, the taxpayer experience, cybersecurity and a town hall meeting with the National Taxpayer Advocate. Also, IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel will make his first appearance at the Atlanta Tax Forum, where he will deliver the keynote speech.

NSTP presenters Paul La Monica and Nina Tross will start the Tuesday schedule with an 8 am session titled “SECURE Act of 2022” (which is repeated at 3:50 pm on Tuesday) and 8 am sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday titled “New and Improved §25C and §25D Credits for Taxpayers for Home Energy Credits.”

Come visit us at the NSTP booth in the exhibit hall – we look forward to visiting with all of you during the five (5) IRS National Tax Forums scheduled in New Orleans, Atlanta, National Harbor, San Diego and Orlando.
