Anyone that is staying at Tesoro. Doctor is onsite in the conference room area. Quick Antigen test is $20, with the return of a $20 voucher for the restaurant. Results given onsite in 20 minutes. FYI. Sign up at front desk and they walk you back. I received my negative test document via email overnight from the Tesoro front desk. The document contains a QR code to scan at check in. As much as I’d love to be “stranded” here for awhile I have to commend the process that I experienced with the testing procedure. Quick and seamless. Just my $.02

    Notes to all attendees:

  • If the requirement for travel back into the U.S. calls for a negative COVID test, the Tesoro Resort is providing for the test required by the U.S. government at their hotel for $20.00 USD. Reservations for your test can be made at the time you check into the hotel, which must be within 72 hours of your travels back to the U.S.
  • Be sure you have your passport and it is current(expiration date is more than 6 months)
  • The all-inclusive program does include all taxes and tips. The hotel checks you will be asked to sign are required for internal bookkeeping purposes. If you wish to tip someone for special service it must be done in cash, if you put it on the hotel check it will just be lumped in with all the hotel tips.
  • Mexico currency is the peso and most vendors accept U.S. Dollars. However, under Mexico law if you pay with U.S. Dollars the change must be in pesos. Credit cards (generally Visa or MasterCard) are accepted at most major shops and restaurants but tips are generally paid in cash at the restaurants. Cash would be needed for cabs, the vendor marketplaces, and some shops – most shops will give a discount for cash paid rather than use of a credit card.
  • If you have not yet booked your shuttle from the airport to the hotel, do so as quickly as possible. Reservations must be made in advance under the arrangements with the taxi union and cannot be made once you reach the airport in San Jose de Los Cabos. Other options are private taxi or shared taxi van, both available at the airport. Uber is now in Cabo San Lucas, however, they cannot pick up at the airport. You can use the Uber App if you are looking for transportation around town.
  • And finally, DO NOT stop when you are exiting the airport. Just keep walking, smile and say NO! There is nothing you need to sign, register or arrange once you have cleared immigration and customs. Once you exit the airport look for the Grayline sign being held up by representatives in green shirts (or whichever shuttle service you are using).
  • If you plan to use a fishing charter while in Cabo please contact me for information. There are many different fishing charters in the area, and I can help you sort through the best one for your use.
  • If you have any questions or requests I can be reached at Nina@NSTP.org; I will be at the Meet and Greet on Monday evening; and working the registration table on Tuesday.
