This course will review the basic principles needed for properly determining and calculating the tax basis of real property for Federal Income Tax purposes.

The course will review the final acquisition cost on placing real estate in-service when it is available for the intended use.

The course will discuss annual depreciation and amortization adjustments as well as determining the adjusted basis at the time of the disposition of real property.

This course will provide a solid base knowledge needed for advancing to NSTP's course titled "Basis Issues for Investing in Partnerships and Subchapter S-Corporations.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, the participants will have achieved a better understanding of the principles of Federal Income Tax basis as it applies to the acquisition, depreciation and disposition of real property. As a result, the Tax Professional will be better equipped to calculate the proper gain or loss on the disposition of real estate holdings of their clients and be better equipped to assist their clients in the acquisition, operation and disposition of real property assets.

Yes. If you have a PTIN on file with us, we will submit your hours. To insure we have your correct info, please provide your PTIN when you register for a course. Please notify us if you have recently submitted a name change request to the IRS.
Your certificate will be emailed to you within 10 business days of the completion of the course.
