This course is Part 1 of 3 in a series addressing "age" and the impact of the Internal Revenue Code. This course introduces the participants to a vast number of federal income tax provisions where "age" is an issue for the proper preparation and compliance of the taxpayer's Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR. There are many provisions where the law provides an exclusion, deduction, credit, deferral, or penalty, where 'age" either allows or disallows the use of the provision. This course addresses tax issues for children including the kiddie tax. In addition, it addresses issues for taxpayers with children and tax impact on the family unit.
This course will address planning opportunities and traps where "age" is a factor. This course has 2 additional parts which are: Part 2 "What's Age Got to Do with Worker and Employer Taxes" and Part 3 "What's Age Got to Do with the Elderly and Retiree Taxes".
At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will have achieved a wealth of knowledge concerning federal income tax provisions where the "age" of the taxpayer, spouse and or a dependent, impacts the final federal income tax liability of the taxpayer in the current year and beyond. Also, tax professionals will be better equipped to provide planning sessions for their clients in the current and future tax years as the client reaches different "age" applicable challenges and opportunities.
