This course will look at the issues surrounding foreign income reporting such as when and how to report foreign income, as well as the appropriate forms to comply with the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FACTA) requirements. During this seminar, we will cover the compliance issue of digital assets, §911 foreign income tax exclusion and the use of ITINs. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to determine when foreign income and transactions are required to be reported, to which reporting agency, and which is the correct form to use. The participant will have a guideline for the reporting of digital assets, the §911 foreign income tax exclusion and the updated procedures regarding the application for and use of ITINs.
At the conclusion of the presentation the Tax Professional will be able to:
- Recognize which transactions are required to be reported,
- Determine which forms are needed in order to be in compliance,
- Identify the reporting requirements to the Treasury Department vs. the Internal Revenue Service, and
- Provide a review of the various reports and examples of how to complete the required forms.
