The Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) authorizes the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCen”) to require entities to report information about their “beneficial owners”. Although the CTA became law in early 2021, FinCen did not publish rules setting forth reporting requirements until October 2022.
This webinar will review who must file these reports and what must be in them. While not required until 2024, practitioners and their clients should be aware that almost all small businesses will be required to file and need to begin assembling the necessary information.
After taking this webinar a practitioner will:
* Know when an entity must file a report with FinCen
* Who is responsible for filing the report
* Understand what information must be included on the FinCen report
* Inform clients of these new requirements that will apply to almost every business entity they own
