This course provides small business owners and tax professionals with a practical introduction to accounting fundamentals and financial management systems (FMS). Participants will gain an understanding of how accounting systems track, organize, and report financial activity to support informed business and tax decisions. The course covers the core financial reports used in business operations, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, General Ledger, Trial Balance, Accounts Receivable Aging, and Accounts Payable Aging reports. Participants will also learn the importance of a properly structured Chart of Accounts and how clean financial data supports compliance, cash flow management, profitability analysis, and long-term business growth. Additional topics include financial visibility, automation, efficiency, lender readiness, and the role of accounting systems in supporting tax planning and financial reporting. Real-world examples and practical applications will be discussed throughout the course to simplify accounting concepts for business owners and advisors.

  • No Refunds or Transfers: Due to the proprietary nature of NSTP course materials, all webinar and live-streaming course registrations are non-refundable, non-cancelable, and non-transferable to another NSTP course.
  • Executive Member No-Show Policy: Executive Members who register but do not attend will be charged the full course price.
  • Registration Requirements: Each participant must register using their own name and email address. Use of a different email at login may result in CE credits not being reported.
  • Access Policy: Access links are unique to the registered email address and cannot be shared or used by another participant. Forwarded links will not function properly.

Attendance Monitoring and Awarding CE
  • Streaming courses employ a pop-up tool for tracking attendance. NASBA guidelines require engagement with three popups per hour to qualify for continuing education (CE) credits. Several additional pop ups will be added to ensure all participants have the opportunity to earn the full CE credits available. CE credits cannot be earned by participating in the streaming course via phone only.

Course Canceled by NSTP
  • NSTP reserves the right to cancel any program or course for circumstances that are not under direct control of NSTP. If a course or program is canceled, participants will be refunded 100% of their registration fee.
