IRS Announces Business MeF Shutdown Date For 2019

The IRS has announced that the Business MeF (Modernized eFile) Production Shutdown for “Send Submissions” only is scheduled to begin at 11:59 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019, to prepare the system for the upcoming 2019 Filing Season. Check with your software vendor, generally all business returns must be transmitted prior to 11:59 am eastern on Thursday, December 26th in order to be processed.

It is recommend transmitting all business returns well before the cutoff time to ensure that they are acknowledged and accepted. Business returns that are not acknowledged or accepted can either be mailed or held for transmission when the MeF system re-opens in January for electronically filing.
